COPS, the groundbreaking reality series featuring real cops on patrol and the real criminals they contend with every day, has received four Emmy® Award nominations and has been endorsed by the National Association of Chiefs of Police and the American Federation of Police.

COPS originally premiered in March of 1989. Since then it has followed dozens of domestic law enforcement agencies in over 150 different cities; from Alaska to Florida as well as Hong Kong, London, and Central and South America. It was the first American television program given permission to film the Moscow and Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) police departments in the former Soviet Union.
