When a famous poker legend dies at the high stakes table, a casino becomes the crime scene. The casino cameras become the critical evidence but only tell part of the story. An evening of high stakes boxing in Las Vegas becomes a crime scene when one boxer gets killed by a fatal upper cut to the face, bringing the CSI team out to investigate if the death was foul play or an accident. Meanwhile, outside of the arena, the CSI team is spread thin with Nick investigating a jewellery heist and Catherine looking into a gang murder.
A film processing lab finds a snuff porn film all too real and calls the crime lab to investigate. Catherine, Sara and Warrick find the entire murder is documented in the film itself. Meanwhile, a skeleton infested with deadly ants is found in a toolbox on the side of the road. In order to solve the bizarre crime, Grissom and Nick must first identify the skeleton by facial reconstruction and use the ants as evidence.
Grissom and Sara investigate a taxi driver who is brutally beaten by a gang of teenagers who think he is fleeing the scene of a fatal pedestrian hit and run. However, as they process the crime scene, they find another gunshot victim and a gun and now need to determine if the crimes are related.
Nick and Warrick are drawn into the world of competitive paragliding while investigating a victim who fell to his death paragliding. Meanwhile, Catherine investigates a victim shot to death at close range following an argument between two neighbours that spiralled out of control.

Meanwhile, Grissom and Warrick investigate how a car salesman winds up on Dr. Robbins’ autopsy table even though he’s still alive.

Meanwhile, when the boss of an Internet company is murdered on the job, Nick is called to investigate, only to find that all the employees were so engrossed in their work that there are no witnesses.

Meanwhile, Sara reopens a case for an old friend, Melissa, an assistant district attorney who was paralyzed in an attack that left her husband dead.
Grissom is reunited with Lady Heather (Melinda Clarke), the dominatrix, when he tracks two murdered male escorts back to her business. He is attracted to Lady Heather until he learns that she is a prime suspect in the case. Meanwhile, Catherine receives a panicked call from her daughter, Lindsay (Madison McReynolds), because she is trapped inside a car that is sinking underwater in a canal.
Grissom and Nick investigate the murder of Alex James, a man who led police on a highspeed chase before exiting his vehicle and dropping dead with a wooden stake in his head. Meanwhile, Catherine and Warrick investigate the kidnapping of the son of professional basketball star, Tavian Tombs (Dwayne Adway).
Catherine and Sara investigate an elderly woman who crashes her car into a restaurant where Sara's boyfriend, EMT Hank (Christopher Gorham), is dining at the time. Meanwhile, Grissom and Nick investigate a domestic case of carbon monoxide poisoning, which proves to be fatal for one family member.
When the CSIs discover a body dumped in an abandoned farm, their investigation uncovers a "Terminator"-esque world of robotic sports where the rise of the machines leads to murder. Meanwhile, Grissom and Warrick are called to investigate a missing person who never returned from his camping trip, and Greg Sanders assists them in the field in solving the mystery.
Grissom and Catherine investigate the murder of a local dentist found stabbed to death while watching a noir movie and the only lead is a statuesque blonde woman. Meanwhile, Warrick, Nick and Sara, while investigating the gunshot death of a 15-year-old boy, come to a forensic impasse because the clues the warehouse provides are so strange.
When a popular comedian (Jeffrey Ross) falls to his death in the middle of his standup routine, Grissom and Catherine are called to investigate possible foul play. They are surprised to learn that across town at a local convenience store the sudden death of a customer could be related to their case. Also, Brass’ suspicion of a previous case ruled accidental has him asking Nick and Sara for help re-opening the investigation. Standup comedians Bob Goldthwait, Gilbert Gottfried, Jeffrey Ross and Bryan Callen guest stars as comedians working at the local comedy club.
Grissom and Catherine investigate the death of the horse trainer in the cargo hold of a lavish private jet. Fingerprints and the tranquilizer gun left at the scene initially point to three of the jet passengers, but when the horse dies, its autopsy reveals a significant piece of evidence which explains what may have triggered the attack. Meanwhile, Warrick and Sara investigate an apparent suicide of a young couple found dead in the desert.
When the CSI lab goes up in flames after a mysterious explosion erupts, all the evidence that was there is tainted and the boss wants to know who is responsible. Meanwhile, Grissom and Nick investigate the murder of a woman found strangled to death at a local high school’s football stadium and Sara tests the romantic waters with Grissom.
When a highly efficient team of bank robbers pulls off a bank heist to steal a single safety deposit box, the job becomes personal for the CSI team when one of their own is shot and killed. Meanwhile, Grissom makes a major decision regarding his hearing problem.
